program_description: |-
The University of Kansas (KU) School of Pharmacy is a world-class teaching and research institution founded in 1885 and a member of the prestigious American Association of Universities (AAU). We educate future healthcare providers, researchers, and community members to solve the most pressing barriers in healthcare.
The KU School of Pharmacy ranks among the top schools of pharmacy, according to US News and World Report and has consistently been a top recipient of National Institutes of Health funding for over two decades.
KU School of Pharmacy students exceed the national average in many metrics. Our Class of 2025 achieved a 92% first time pass rate on the NAPLEX and a 93% first time pass rate on the MPJE. 91% residency match rate among students who applied.
As the only school of pharmacy in Kansas, students receive the cutting edge of our rich tradition, interprofessional collaboration, and unique rotational opportunities. KU students learn from clinical preceptors, top scientists, and community settings that represent the array of practice and expertise available across Kansas. Our students learn the principles of drug therapy from world–renowned researchers who have been involved in the discovery of 24 marketed drugs. Our students graduate understanding biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences and the pharmacy profession, from discovery and formulation to medication delivery.
The KU School of Pharmacy spans three campuses in Lawrence, Wichita and Kansas City. Pharm.D. students attend classes at our Lawrence or Wichita campus, and complete clinical experiences at sites throughout Kansas.
Each year, approximately three quarters of a million dollars in scholarships are awarded to our students. Qualified applicants, both in- and out-of-state, have access to scholarships and funding which support student wellbeing, clinical experiences, and educational opportunities.
