Temple University School of Pharmacy (TUSP) is located on Temple University’s Health Sciences Center campus in Philadelphia, alongside the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Kornberg School of Dentistry, Temple University Hospital, and affiliated healthcare facilities.
Founded in 1901, TUSP is one of Pennsylvania’s oldest pharmacy schools and is celebrating 125 years of pharmacy education in 2025. The School has a long tradition of preparing graduates for successful careers in pharmacy, and the pharmaceutical industry.

    Innovative Curriculum
Temple’s four-year Doctor of Pharmacy program combines foundational sciences with clinical pharmacy practice, helping students apply classroom knowledge to patient care. Students benefit from a 10:1 student-to-faculty ratio and learn from faculty with expertise across diverse pharmacy practice settings.
Pharmacist skills courses throughout the curriculum provide hands-on training in patient care, communication, and clinical decision-making, helping students build confidence and prepare for licensure and practice. Students can also personalize their education through elective concentrations, certificate programs, and dual-degree opportunities.

    Extensive Experiential Learning
Hands-on learning begins early through Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) during years 1-3 of the program. In year 4, students complete Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs) in a variety of practice settings, with numerous elective rotations that align with individual interests and career goals.
TUSP partners with many experiential education sites, including Temple University Health System, most major health systems throughout the Philadelphia region, and facilities across PA, NJ, and Delaware. Additional opportunities include rotations in the pharmaceutical industry, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, pharmacogenomics, pharmaceutical advertising, Indian Health Service in Alaska, and international locations.
